Ballroom G (Pasadena Convention Center)
Monina Klevens , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA
Henry Roberts , Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Atlanta, GA
Brief Summary

Members of the DVH/ST will present the new estimation procedure, discuss data and sources of data used in the process, and demonstrate how the calculations were performed.   The benefits and limitations of alternative sources of data will be discussed.

State and local epidemiologists who attend this round table will be encouraged to provide feedback on the process and inform DVH staff of potential need for technical assistance and/or training to support implementation of the estimation procedure.     Finally, partners will also be asked for feedback about other surveillance activities that were recently undertaken by  DVH/ST.

Information shared by state and local viral hepatitis surveillance programs will be used to guide current and future activities of DVH/ST.

The DVH has initiated activities to improve viral hepatitis surveillance, as outlined in the HHS Action Plan for the Prevention, Care & Treatment of Viral Hepatitis.  The success of the plan and the ability to provide reliable and valid viral hepatitis data for public health decision-making and action is dependent on collaborations between local, state, and national public health partners.
