Brief Summary:
Deadly Outbreaks—a book of outbreak mystery stories—began as a CSTE workforce development project that aimed to increase public understanding of what career epidemiologists do and to inspire young people to enter the field.   In this roundtable, author Alexandra Levitt and former CSTE Executive Director Patrick McConnon describe the writing, publication, and marketing of Deadly Outbreaks, and consider whether such a book can, in fact, help to attract the next generation of epidemiologists.
