Brief Summary
This roundtable will provide a forum for discussing the recently updated frameworks for standard reporting of injury morbidity data using ICD-10-CM. With input from the injury research community, staff at the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control and the National Center for Health Statistics have updated the external cause matrix for reporting mechanism of injury by intent and the injury diagnosis matrix for reporting nature of injury by body region. Both matrices will be briefly described, resources for implementation will be provided, and issues and concerns regarding the transition to ICD-10-CM will be discussed.
