MCH epidemiologists are increasingly involved as data experts in major national initiatives focused on quality improvement (QI) such as the Collaborative Improvement and Innovation Network (CoIIN). However, epidemiology training has not traditionally included the methods, skills, and strategies used in QI approaches. Join AMCHP and CSTE in a dialogue about the challenges and opportunities for MCH epis involved in QI projects and discuss some of the key components of QI when it comes to data, including creating and populating data dashboards, access to data to timely data for improvement, and using data for rapid cycles of change.
