Biographical Sketch:
Suad El Burai Félix, MPH, currently serves as an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education Fellow at the Air Pollution and Respiratory Health Branch, National Center for Environmental Health (NCEH), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Her responsibilities include performing epidemiologic studies using national health surveys, generating asthma-related summary statistics for program and policy purposes, and providing technical support to State Health Departments with an Asthma Program Cooperative Agreement. Prior to coming to NCEH, she served as a Hispanic-Serving Health Professions Schools (HSHPS) trainee at CDC/Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry, conducting research for the project “Integration of National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey Data with the Case Studies in Environmental Medicine (CSEM)”. Also worked as HSHPS trainee at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) to carry out comprehensive grant review and aggregated analysis of grant budgets for states part of the 2010 Uniform Reporting System (URS) Data Management Plan. Ms. El Burai Félix received a master’s degree in Public Health with specialty in Biostatistics from the School of Public Health, University of Puerto Rico Medical Sciences Campus. She earned a bachelor`s degree in Finance and Statistics from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras Campus.
