Biographical Sketch: Ranjani Starr is a Chronic Disease Epidemiologist with the Hawaii State Department of Health. She previously served as the state’s Influenza Surveillance Coordinator. Ms. Starr works closely with several state health surveys, serving the needs of the chronic disease prevention and health promotion program. She also serves on the editorial board of the Hawaii Journal of Medicine & Public Health. Ms. Starr’s interests include diabetes, health disparities, LGBT health, school health, and the application of epidemiology to inform clinical practice. Ms. Starr has an MPH from Florida International University, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Epidemiology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
