Biographical Sketch:
Vincent L Mendy is an Epidemiologist III with the Delta Health Collaborative, Mississippi State Department of health, received his Masters (M.P.H.) and Doctor of Public Heath (Dr.P.H) in Epidemiology from Jackson State University in 2009 and 2013. Prior to joining the Delta Health Collaborative in 2011, Vincent worked as a special project officer with the Office Health Promotion and Health Equity at the Mississippi State Department of Health. Vincent has collaborated with churches, barbers, local policy makers, community health workers, federally qualified health centers, and the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy to implement the “ABCS” of heart disease and stroke prevention in the 18-county Delta region in Mississippi. His research interests include cardiovascular disease and metabolic disease risk prevention in high-risk populations with a focus on individuals with elevated blood pressure.
