Brief Summary:
In this special lunch and learn session, attendees will learn about the CDC/CSTE Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance (ARS) Taskforce, which was formed as a result of the CSTE position statement 13-SI-01. The long-term goal of the Taskforce is to develop a strategic plan for AR surveillance. Speakers will provide a brief overview of the Taskforce and discuss the purposes and methods of community-based ARS in state and local health departments; the purposes and methods of facility-based ARS; the coordination of facility and community-based ARS at the federal level; and the steps to reduce suppression of data in electronic laboratory reports of antimicrobial resistance. The discussion following these updates will provide an opportunity for feedback and input from CSTE members. NOTE: Please bring your lunch with you to this session.
