This panel presents information on different aspects of perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) in Wisconsin. PFCs are a class of chemicals found in a variety of consumer products, used for non-stick/non-stain applications. PFCs are of concern because they are persistent in the environment, bioaccumulate, and have been associated with adverse health effects in both human and animal studies. The first abstract focuses on Biomonitoring results for PFCs in older male anglers, with comparisons to the US general population, and determinants of PFC levels. The second abstract focuses on the relationships between PFC body burden and health outcomes among older male anglers. The third abstract describes PFC levels in fish tissue samples from Great Lakes waterways collected from 2006-2012.
