Panel Organizer:

Antibiotic resistance is a serious threat to local, national, and global public health. Misuse of antibiotics in human medicine, as well as veterinary practice and animal agriculture, contributes to increased antibiotic resistance in bacteria. This panel will focus on state-level programs and strategies to promote antibiotic stewardship. It will highlight partnerships with the CDC Get Smart: Know When Antibiotics Work Program, offer ideas for scalable interventions, identify innovations in coalition building, and review lessons learned. The session will conclude with a CDC led discussion on future initiatives and sources of funding for Get Smart activities.
