Communication to public health professionals is essential to good epidemiologic practice. Poor communication techniques can severely limit the effectiveness of any scientific presentation and obscure data and results. The first part of the day will focus on presenting epidemiologic data to a scientific audience. Proper use of visual displays and good presentation techniques will be demonstrated. The workshop format will include a didactic lecture followed by an interactive break-out session in which participants will be able to practice the techniques described in lecture with time for discussion and Q&A.
